Extension Requests Need a System Assessment

A flue or vent extension must match the chimney system, appliance, required clearances, and manufacturer specifications. Additional height is not a universal solution for smoke or draft concerns.

Will extending the flue fix every draft problem?

No. Air supply, blockages, chimney condition, and appliance setup may also matter. The cause should be assessed before an extension is recommended.

Can different pipe systems be mixed?

Compatibility must be established from the relevant manufacturer instructions. Do not select parts from appearance or diameter alone.

Is this an offer of roofing work?

No. FWCS does not offer roof or flashing repairs. Ask the office to confirm current chimney-extension scope and access requirements.
